Rabbi Shmuly Altein a"h was a shliach and chossid of the Lubavitcher Rebbe — a talmid chochom and gifted speaker who carried Torah with depth and joy. Chabad Chassidus was the love of his life: he learned it, lived it, and taught it with a fire that drew people in — turning a maamar or a sicha into something you could feel. He was a visionary and a builder, and at the very same time warm, funny, and endlessly loving — the kind of person who made every room feel lighter the moment he walked in.

Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, adored by Adina and their children, and loved by all. He formed deep relationships almost instantly, and over a lifetime of shlichus he touched thousands of lives — guiding, lifting, and bringing people closer to Yiddishkeit and to each other. That light lives on through Adina, their children, and every person he reached.

Beside him through every chapter — the early Winnipeg years, every move, every family that walked through their door, and the long years of his fight for life — was Adina. She gave it everything: devoted, steady, blev venefesh, keeping him focused on one more precious minute. And even as she held him and their home, she never stopped giving — teaching shiurim, offering chizuk, and pouring love into her family and her community. Together, she and Rabbi Shmuly became a hisorerus for Klal Yisroel — their emunah, their simcha, and their devotion to one another awakening hearts far beyond the people they personally touched. She deserves the love and appreciation of everyone whose life he touched.
